Craft Collective - The Craft of Filmmaking

Craft Collective Films is a New York based boutique production company specializing in narrative, commercial, documentary and branded content.

The last few years have brought Andreas von Scheele’s Craft Collective to inner city Tokyo, the slums of Kampala, Uganda, the cenotes of the Yucatan, baseball fields of the Dominican Republic and the shores of Maine.  Craft Collective was one of the co-producers on Douglas Brown directed by Justin Daly. Craft Collective is presently collaborating with The Atlantic magazine on a series about what it means to live the “good life” and with Refinery29 on a series of fashion projects.

Traveling

Glyph drives accompany the team on every project and they have been using Glyph for 7 years since an archival house requested the drive for delivery. Andreas says, "I couldn't image working with any other hard drive system. So much time and money  goes  into these projects, it doesn't make sense not to choose the most reliable drives with the best data recovery options. All your creative assets live on these drives and it needs to be safeguarded with the strongest foundation possible and I have found that to be Glyph. The greatest thing about  woring  with Glyph drives, besides their durability, reliability and gorgeous design is that if something does go wrong, you can reach out to them and work with a specialist that actually cares and will do whatever they possibly can to save your data. There is no other storage company like that out there."

Right Recommendation

Craft Collective has been fortunate to have never had a drive go down (knock on wood), but a few years ago they recommended the drive to a client and many months later they got a panicked and somewhat persnickety call when the Glyph drive seemed not to be working.  Andreas told him to call customer service. A few days later, the client called to thank Craft Collective for recommending Glyph and that they would never use any other hard drive company. Glyph had saved the data, fixed the drive and returned it to the client so he could keep working.  Andreas comments, “Hard drives will go down, they are like cars. So to have the piece of mind that you can get someone on the phone and better yet send the drive in for data recovery and repair - that’s the ultimate selling point.” Andreas continues, “People who use Glyph drives are like an insider’s club. It’s like —  you use Glyph drives too! OK, we’re going to work well together.”
